Anvil started life as a request on Detailing World, to make a wax which had superb clarity and gloss to suit metallic paint - this was a world first, no other options were available at the time.
Our recipe book contains notes on every blend we have made over the last 8 years. This allows us to delve in and find the oils and waxes which match the request...exactly, plus we keep in depth notes on the specific oils and waxes to ensure that the final blend is what is required.
Once we have identified the ideal blend, we collate the ingredients and start with a prototype, the prototype provides a real life example of how the oils and waxes work together. Then we can tweak the recipe so that it performs exactly as it's required.
Most car wax is too opaque, which is why there is a lack of flake. At Mitchell and King we can create the same warmth, but we have utilised specific oils with superb clarity so that you get a super flake pop! A customer has submitted the image below to show the quality of finish that Anvil provides.
Anvil is the perfect wax for any car which has metallic paint. It offers you great flake pop and super wetness.
Anvil is a natural colour so as not to impede the natural ingredients and to ensure the optimum clarity on your paint.
Blended from a collection of high clarity oils and low colour waxes to guarantee the finish is as crisp and transparent as possible.
Apply to the whole car and allow to cure for upto 30 minutes, our waxes cure hard rather than evaporate so that you get a better finish and more of the blend is left on the paint.
The perfect wax if you have metallic paint and wish to show off the metallic fleck within your colour coat.

I was looking to bring out the metallic flake on a new 2018 vehicle of mine. I learnt of M&K waxes by way of the Detailing World website. Not by someone's word of mouth or a recommendation from a detailer. I liked what was being offered and the approach M&K had towards their product line. Anvil fit my need and was first applied using only one application. The feeling I perceived was a thicker finish when buffed off. I liked the thicker feeling of more wax protecting my paint. I plan to do a better application using Pure and will layer Anvil when weather permits, for a more quality shine. I'm satisfied knowing the shell is being better taken care of using this wax. Is M&K my Achilles heel in waxes? I'll let you know.
First time to use anvil on mine car. I put on 3 layers. When the sun hits the car the flakes in the paint pop. Great clear wax.
After machine polishing and an application of Pure I treated my metallic Flame Red paintwork to two coats of Anvil.
Applied with a M&K microfibre applicator, buffed off with ease.
All I can say is that it looks absolutely sensational, very glossy with great depth, but most of all, the flake pop is fantastic. Flame Red is a lovely colour and Anvil has really bought out the flake in the paintwork.
Superb finish on Race Blue
After spending a few days polishing my car Anvil was the LSP of choice.
The first application was left to cure on the whole car for about 15 minutes before being buffed off. After about an hour a second application was left for a few minutes per panel before being buffed off.
With each method the wax buffed off easily even in direct sunlight.
The finish is simply stunning, the flake pop is amazing and there is a real depth to the paint.
I was impressed with the very high quality construction and smooth running of this polisher. It is obviously in a different league to other polishers in this price range. You would need to spend a lot more money to better it
I applied the sealant with the pad provided, to a panel at a time and after a few minutes, I wiped the hazed product off and repeated the procedure with the curing agent. Really happy with the finished result.
Applied to cleaned alloys wheels I wiped mine down with a panel wipe product first. Wheels were then dried with a blower. Sprayed on to wheel. Worked in using a microfiber pad. Buffed off with ease. Applied 2 coats with ease. Super slick and works a treat!
Applied to freshly polished black paint. I was working outside against the clock - light gradually failing, damp in the air. One panel at a time using a microfiber pad. Worked in easily. Then buffed off. So easy to use leaving an intense streak free shine with deep reflections. Next day, applied sparingly to super clean plastic trim. So easy. Darkened the trim slightly. Super product. Buy some!
Excellent package. Very impressed with both the contents and the chest itself.
This is a good way to try different products all of which have been excellent.
Can’t fault John or his customer care .Will definitely use again.
Ordered the kit as an introduction to M&K, The case I got is a bit smaller than the picture on the site, doesn't have the nice preformed spaces for the bottles and wax, but John told me he is gonna look into that, Nonetheless everything, including the spray nozzles and dispenser caps, still fits inside. The quality of the flight case is pretty decent as it comes with firm padding all around the inside, rubber foots on the underside and on the hinge side, a handle locks an engraved plate with your name and date of birth. I'm pretty happy with the case and comes with me on long trips or to people who needs help with there car. Unfortunately I didn't get the 2x 600gsm microfibre yet because they where out of stock but I bet they are great cloths. I'm also very pleased with the back and forth mailing with John for asking to confirm that the liquids I ordered where indeed the right ones.
My car is well maintained but after I used Pure I noticed that the paint work wasn't that clean like I tough it was. A good cleaner that doesn't smell like ur using some type of fuel and get tiered of the smell after 10 minutes, Worked it in on an old clean polishing pad by hand and worked just fine, remoael is also very easy and the paintworks feels smooth. Not much is needed so that's always good. Never used M&K before, now I must use it!
It's very easy to appliy with a microfibre pad once primed with the product. I did the whole car in one go, let it cure for an hour or so and buffed off clean with one swipe of the cloth. It showed a streak free, glass like finish underneath and felt silky smooth, great product and not much is needed at all.
Applied it on my BMW F30 Tansanit Blau wich has amazing flakes and glitter. You feel imediately the wax is on the hard side due to the high carnuba content and makes it a bit difficut to lay it thin, which is highly recomended. I'm not used to this quality of wax and alowing it to cure for aprox 20 min is also new for me and struggeld a bit on the first panels, once I got used to this type of application it went pretty smooth. The results afterwards looked more than good, glossy and a rich deep color and lustre.
My Subaru is a two year old blue Forester. This wax really bring my car with super thick gloss and strong feeling of coating on top of the thin paint. Just need to be careful to give this wax enough curin time before removal. Spritz with QD will make the application easier~.
